Due to the pandemic, there will not be a Project Learning Day during 2021.
Project Learning Day is a countywide 4-H Event where 4-H members, leaders and parents are welcome to take a class on various topics. This is an educational event that kids and parents can learn many new things – from animals to sewing and many other projects. Project Learning Day for 2020 was held on February 22 at Rockwell Elementary School in Fort Atkinson from 9-1:30 pm. Below is a descriptions of the classes that were offered as well as a schedule for the day. The schedule also lists the class instructor as well as the cost of the class.
Class Descriptions:
- Rocketry: Introduction to the Rocketry project. Student will build a foam rocket to bring home and we will discuss the basics of rocketry and upcoming rocketry projects. (Bring paper and pencil) (Any Age – Under 9 with an Adult)
- Rabbits: Learn How to take care of your rabbit. How to handle and what to feed your rabbit. How to make a cage. (Any Age)
- Fun with Creative Writing: Bring out your Inner Storyteller: Fun and easy ways to get started writing. (Bring paper and pencil) (Any Age)
- Food Dehydration: Learn different ways to dehydrate food and what can be dehydrated taste some interesting food. (Any Age – Under 9 with an Adult)
- Jelly Making: Learn how to make jelly. What steps are needed to can jelly. You will also take home a jar of jelly. (Any Age – Under 9 with an Adult)
- Make a Take Home Bait: Learn about live baits, flies, lures and plugs. (Ages 9 and up)
- “Seeds”: Learn that we can start new plants with different seeds. (Ages 9 and up)
- Floral Arrangements: Learn about different arrangement patterns and how to create an arrangement or bouquet. (Ages 9 and up)
- Learn about Trees: Learn to identify trees and tell how how old they are and the stories they can tell. (Ages 9 and up)
- Make a Sign for your Room: Learn how to paint and add vinyl to make your own sign for your room. (Any Age)
- Cardboard Tube Bee: (Any Age)
- Simple Art with Coffee Filters: Make art with coffee filters (Any Age)
- Dogs: Learn about dogs and ask all the questions you may have. (Any Age)
- Perler Beads: Learn how to make flowers or shapes with beads that will be melted together. (Any Age)
- Make Picture Frames: (Bring one picture) (Any Age)
- Bead Art: Making various types of creative art with beads. (Any Age)
- Horse Tack: Learn about both English and Western riding equipment and its purpose. Participants will work in teams to put together the tack needed to show either English or Western. (Any Age)
- Cloverbuds: Find out the theme for Cloverbud Day Camp this year! You will make slime filled with tiny ocean life animals. (Cloverbuds)
