Volunteer of the Month: Ed Bielinski

For decades, Ed Bielinski has been a driving force behind Jefferson County 4-H livestock judging, dedicating countless hours to coaching and mentoring young people. Under his leadership, generations of youth have developed into skilled evaluators, confident communicators, and leaders, with many teams advancing to compete at the state, national, and even international levels. Ed’s commitment goes far beyond preparing youth for contests—he creates opportunities for young people to challenge themselves, grow, and discover what they are capable of achieving.

Livestock judging is about much more than placing animals. Through Ed’s guidance, youth learn to think critically, analyze information, make well-reasoned decisions, and confidently defend their choices through oral reasons. These experiences build lifelong skills in communication, problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making that serve participants well in college, careers, and everyday life. Jefferson County 4-H is fortunate to have a volunteer whose dedication has impacted so many young people, and whose legacy continues to shape future generations of leaders.
