Animal Health

Before the Fair, please review the rules for your department. It’s important to consult your veterinarian early to determine the best timing for any required tests or records. With the upcoming holiday and increased vet demand leading up to the Fair, delays are possible.

Swine Exhibitors:

New in 2026: you do not need a PRRS/PEDv test to come to Fair, but you still need a CVI!

Dairy Exhibitors:

New in 2026: lactating dairy cattle does not need to be tested for a negative Indluenza A milk sample 7 days before Fair.

All Species, be sure to:

  • Review the Jefferson County Fair Premium Book for local rules. If you’re looking for a quick view of it, you can see the Animal Exhibitor Checklist & Health on our website
  • Refer to the DATCP Fair Rules for specific Animal Health requirements.

Planning ahead helps ensure a smooth and stress-free Fair week for you and your animals!
